ELEKTRA, the innovative LED specialist based in Enger, North Rhine-Westphalia, has impressed the jury of the international iF DESIGN AWARD with a ring light. This minimalist solution for kitchen and bathroom furniture stands out thanks to a perfect blend of elegant design, high-quality technology, sustainability and ease of use.
Outstanding design: ELEKTRA’s innovative LD 8228 ring light has won the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2025. “We are very proud of this award, which highlights not only the aesthetic but also the functional features of our light,” says Boris Niessing. The Managing Director of ELEKTRA has every reason to be delighted, given the nearly 11,000 entries from 66 countries. “It is a wonderful endorsement of our commitment to high-quality, efficient and sustainable lighting solutions.”

The luminaire won an award in the ‘Products’ discipline of the ‘Lighting’ category, impressing
the 131 independent design professionals on the jury particularly with its virtually invisible flat ribbon cable. Thanks to its low profile, it remains discreetly in the background of the lighting and furniture design. Simple installation and residue-free removal are made possible by the self-adhesive mounting. This significantly reduces process costs. Technically, too, this minimalist solution scores highly with state-of-the-art LED technology and its glare-free, high-intensity output in a smart ring shape.
The iF DESIGN AWARD is a globally recognised mark of excellence for outstanding design and design quality. It has been awarded by iF International Forum Design GmbH since 1954 and is one of the world’s most prestigious design awards.
